-find ways to incorporate things that interest me/capture my attention into my writing
-find ways to appeal to people on emotional levels, as that will capture interest, and leave me more room for error (Cartoonist Stephen Pastis said “I’ve found that people like a comic strip that they can connect to better than a clever joke”)
-condense my writing wherever I can (without sacrificing my quality of course), making sure I can convey a point in as little words as possible
-Re-reading twice, once as of my own point of view, and once as an “opposite of me” point of view
-If I’m trying to argue a point, think as if I was a person with the opposite point of view. Build up an argument that makes sense from an opposing point of view, then use your own arguments to destroy the opposing point of view
